Multidisciplinary Vascular Care: Essentials for Nurses, Technologists, APPs, and Sonographers
This fast-paced, practical session covers key topics in vascular care including cardiometabolic syndrome, PAD, hypertension, wound care, venous disease, and carotid management. Attendees will gain insights on imaging choices (CT vs. ultrasound), superficial and deep venous interventions, IVC reconstruction, and building effective VTE and wound programs. Case-based discussions, new perioperative guidelines, and pharmacologic management will also be addressed, with expert panels throughout to provide actionable takeaways for everyday practice.

The target audience for the Vascular Care Team Symposium is nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and technologists who work in cardiovascular care, cath labs, angiography suites, and endovascular operating rooms.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Identify the elements of cardiometabolic syndrome and describe the application of current pharmacologic therapies, including antithrombotic and antihypertensive agents.
  • Describe current diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for PAD including imaging, revascularization, and medical therapy.
  • Discuss the development and implementation of comprehensive VTE, superficial vein, and wound care programs.
  • Identify appropriate diagnosis and management strategies for arterial, venous, and atypical wounds.
